Day 3 Scenic Coast Tour: Positano, Amalfi, Atrani & seafood lunch (8 hours)

Today is the most scenic day, as your driver-guide will take you for a truly memorable experience visiting the most famous and magical settings overlooking the Tyrrhenian sea. First stop is Positano. From the centrally located Piazza dei Mulini, which is the last drivable section downtown, you will enjoy a very pleasant walk along a narrow downhill street leading to the seafront area passing by the cathedral, several outdoor cafes, green grocery, art & ceramic stores. From Amalfi you will then head to Amalfi – an ancient maritime republic.

It is a very pretty little town with a fascinating history, in a spectacular setting wedged between the sea and the mountains, with several good restaurants,  ceramic shops and homemade limoncello! Life centres on the open-air salon of Piazza del Duomo, dominated by the flamboyant, striped façade of the Norman-Arab-style cathedral with its interlaced arches and a set of magnificent bronze doors cast in Constantinople in 1066. The best place to refuel and reflect is the charming old Pasticceria Pansa, whose delizie al limone, creamy cakes flavoured with local lemons, are legendary.

To escape Amalfi’s crowds, you will then take the stepped footpath that leads over the hill to Atrani, a fishing village with an atmospheric tangle of tightly packed buildings, tunnelled walkways and staircases and a brilliant fish trattorias, where your lunch will be served.

Day 4 Day Trip to Capri & Anacapri (9 hours)

Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel. In a few minutes, we’ll walk to the port and cross to Capri by jetfoil. Our suggested tour starts with a visit to the Blue Grotto, if weather permits – this amazing cave is only open about one day out of four, depending on the sea level and conditions. Once on the island, we’ll skip the lines and travel by private convertible car to Anacapri, the second-largest town. There, you can enjoy a chairlift ride to the island’s highest point at 589 meters (1,800 feet) above sea level. After a short walking tour and free time for lunch, we’ll drive by convertible to Capri’s main square, the hub of the island’s shopping and celebrity scene. We’ll visit the Caesar Augustus Gardens to see the beautiful Bay of Salerno, then catch the famous Funicolare (cable car) down to the Capri Marina Grande pier to return to Sorrento at your convenience.

You’ll also tour the cellar with a detailed explanation of the winemaking methods used, followed by a guided tasting of their wines, accompanied by typical local delicacies like cheese, cold cuts, “pane biscottato” (toasted bread), and dessert.

Next, you’ll visit a mozzarella farm specializing in products like mozzarella fior di latte, mozzarella braids, caciocavallo cheese, caciotta, hard cheeses, fresh cheeses, provolone, and ricotta.
